Himalayan Safari-II (12 Days) : -
(Delhi-Manali-Lahaul Valley-Agra) |
|
Lahaul & Spiti are the two Remote
Himalayan Valleys of Himachal Pradesh lying on the
Indo-Tibetan Border. These Valleys are unsurpassed
in the splendor of their snow-covered peaks. The
climate is Dry and very cold. The whole valley is
surrounded by High Mountains on all the sides, Great
Himalayas to the north and the Pir-Panjal on the
south. Lahaul and Spiti is also a Fascinating area
for the Buddhist art and culture. The Monasteries
of Lahaul & Spiti are rich repositories of ancient
murals, Thanka’s, woodcarving and golden images
of the Padma Sambhava. The peoples are charming,
friendly and hospitable with their own Traditional
dances, Ballads, folk tales and legends. The valley
lies at the height of 2745 Meters above the sea
level. Summers in these valleys are cool and pleasant
with green grass and alpine flowers and an abundance
of crops. There is no Monsoon in Lahaul and Spiti
as it enables climbers and trekkers to enjoy a long
and unbroken season in perpetual sunshine and dry
crisp air of Lahaul & Spiti and explore the
wilderness and grandeur of the Inner Himalayas.
As far as the Spiti valley is concerned, it is closed
